Cultural Change & Technology
I found myself saying "aha" and "Yep" quite a bit during the readings for class this week. I bring that up because, I usually do not read like that. But, something was being said throughout the articles that I could not help but agree with. It was the discussion concerning the need and use of critical thinking when taking advantage of what technology has to offer, whether it is information you are looking for or understanding how some technologies might make a persons' life better. Regardless of all that we have to gain from advancing technology we still need to rely on our own intuition, knowledge base, ability to discern right from wrong and/or the validity of information. With our ability to reason being challenged everyday are we preparing ourselves and our children to be able to handle it. Do we compromise ourselves and are we moving so fast that information being presented to us or as new technology is introduced to us is just accepted as the best thing for all of us? Don't misunderstand this thought, I appreciate the way and devices that support our ability to receive information, I only ask the question as a discussional item and my need to explore many perspectives.

Education & Technology Thoughts 10/7/07
Condsidering how many of the technology related forecasts that have come in to regular use in education, and that educational leaders truly desire to further these efforts and this progress. Educators throughout our field to embrace the creativeness that they may want to explore. If educators feel that they can.......................wait a second, how can I begin to guess what all educators feel.
It is our responsibility as educational leaders to develop our field and advance our efforts, all efforts. With that said. How do we encourage all leaders at all levels to consider cultural change? One that embraces and allows educators to use or not use technology, give them tools and develop skills that allow them to further themselves as teachers. Educators need to see that they have opportunity to consider new technologies and feel supported in learning and developing teaching styles using these new tools.

Tuesday 10/2/07 - Still Pondering the Reasons
I have noticed that I am still thinking about the reasons we hear administrators give when asked to consider the use of technology in schools, and/or classrooms. I am noticing that I am becoming irritated when I consider the resaons given. I wonder if their is more time being given to not considering the use of technology to advance students learning than if they would just embrace the concept and commit effort to creating a group to discuss possibilities, review opportunities, and then make their decision.
